Madera Giant Retractable Awnings are officially the largest lateral arm retractable awnings in the American market. With an astounding 20-foot projection, they set a new standard in size, a title they are poised to hold for years to come.
The Madera Giant redefines the very limits of retractable shade. Despite its massive size, it maintains the signature elegance and durability of all VPE products. Special structural features ensure unwavering stability without sacrificing its sleek design.
Structurally, the Madera Giant features a double square bar lateral arm system engineered for extra heavy-duty performance. It offers the same versatile functionality as traditional retractable awnings, but with significantly superior strength. For optimal stability with its 20-foot projection, the Giant requires installation with two 13-inch high brackets per arm, plus a center bracket for proper alignment.
Smaller projections of 15 or 16 feet can be installed on regular siding with an installation board. However, for the largest projections, reinforced concrete or cinder block siding is strongly recommended to ensure secure mounting.
Remarkably, despite its immense strength and maximum projection, the Giant requires only two feet of front clearance, allowing for flexible installation.
Its robust aluminum frame features a sleek white powder-coated finish, complemented by durable stainless steel hardware and chained elbows. Custom frame colors are available upon request to match your specific aesthetic.
Important Operating Information:
Retractable awnings contain strong springs under tension and are designed exclusively for sun protection. They must be retracted during inclement weather (high winds, heavy rain, or snow). Failure to retract the awning in bad weather can cause damage not covered under warranty.
